When designing it, the Brazilian-Italian modernist architect, Lina Bo Bardi, tried to keep the human body proportions in mind. In 1951, she came up with two prototypes of a geometric, movable chair defined by a steel frame with four subtle legs and a hemispherical, bowl-shaped seat.
